It (take MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, ...) starts as a close circle of "just me and a bunch of nerds", these nerds are (obviously) the influencers who lead the masses to the new media. Once the masses adopt it, the stupification begins, and leads to the media being abandoned by the nerds, who start a new place, which gets more popular and stupifies, and ... you get the point. The only choice we have is to create a hangout, a social network that's really only for nerds. Command line only, ascii art only, and so on. Make it totally unsexy (and preferably impossible to use with an IQ below the 60th percentile). It’s the stupification cycle of new media. We all have to work longer and we'll get less money, but the pensions of the politicians has to go through a review? That doesn't seem fair. They get a full pension after 20 years, everybody else after 42. We have to do something about the politicians. This strike isn't hurting them, it's hurting us normal people.
