On becoming a better developer

Pippin Williamson, of WordPress EDD fame, wrote a short piece on what he thinks developers should do to become beter developers.

To get better you must want to get better.

That’s step 1 right?

To truly learn and retain a more advanced development knowledge, you have to yearn to get better. If you don’t want to get better, you will likely never see anything but minor improvement.

This doesn’t mean you should be coding evenings, night and weekends. But it does mean that when the chance to learn something new presents itself(a conference, a meetup, a side project, etc), you grab it with both hands.
